Recently I spotted these amazing dark bookcases that interior designer Keith Irvine used in a home. The New York Times summarized Irvines design style nicely by saying ..easy way with traditional English style, which he always seasoned with a bit of French. Eclectic and spontaneous. I love that description. It struck me how uncommon it is to see beautiful dark bookcases like this so I set off to find more of them. Irvines use of dark bookcases in this image embodies the traditional English country home for me.

Simples lines and similar colors work nicely in this bookcase.

I love the textures and collected objects on these shelves.

I love the height of these Alessandra Branca bookcases and the accents of red.

I like the accents of yellow in this dark wooden bookcase and the varying striped fabric on the chairs.
Do you love the look of dark bookcases?
