I have to remind myself to do that. To welcome the imperfect at times. To not apologize for the undone and the mistakes and for those forgotten threads at the bottom of the slipcover.

There is a time and place for perfect. Heart surgery, taxes, flying a plane, wiring a chandelier, brushing your teeth all should be done with perfection in mind. The hard part is knowing when to draw the line on perfection and roll your eyes at her persnickety self and tell her enough already.

Its time we had a It Doesnt Have to be Perfect to be Beautiful Celebration. Its so easy to make assumptions when we see a pretty room. We a

An interesting feature of Kelly Behuns work is the way she manages to mirror urban life in her projects. For today we decided to showcase some of the interiors envisioned and implemented by the studio of the modern artist, as we consider they represent a real American design trend nowadays. Seen on Desire to Inspire, the imposing penthouses feature an elegant and minimalist design, defined by a soft color palette. Intriguing lighting schemes and subtle decorations make for good sources of inspiration. Studio Kelly Behun is the result of a design collaboration with artist Alex P. There are various theories that have been put forward regarding the subject of why children seem to hate bedtime so much. It is often a battle that parents find, when attempting to get young children to go to bed in order to get a good nights sleep. A large part of it, it has been suggested, is that children do not want to go to bed because they feel left out. This is understandable, since it is likely that there are older children still awake, who have been permitted to stay up later. Childrens desire to be with their parents is also likely to make they feel left out, once they have been banished and sent to their room on their own. If they are not tired when they go to bed it is also understandable why children may feel bored when they are sent there, and refuse to stay in their rooms.

One way to stop children hating bedtime so much is to make it fun for them.

Green walls and green roof makes a forest appartment block in Milan
Congratulations to Stefano Boerion his Vertical Forest. He proclaims: The first example of a Bosco Verticale composed of two residential towers of 110 and 76 meters height, will be realized in the centre of Milan, on the edge of the Isola neighbourhood, and will host 900 trees (each measuring 3, 6 or 9 m tall) apart from a wide range of shrubs and floral plants. On flat land, each Bosco Verticale equals, in amount of trees, an area equal to 10.000 sqm of forest. In terms of urban densification the equivalent of an area of single family dwellings of nearly 50.000 sqm.
But will it work? I do not anticipate a horticultural problem with growing the trees. But will the residents want them? I am sceptical. Read more…

If you’ve got an iPad (which, with how popular they are, chances are you do) no doubt you need a case for it. A case that must wear many hats: be sturdy, protect your technology, look good, be within your budget, etc. But have you ever thought of perhaps one of the most important elements to an iPad case you should be investigating? Whether it can camouflage the fact that you have a very expensive piece of technology with you?
What if we told you we came across a DIY project that could tell you how to make an iPad case out of a notebook: something affordable, something you can make yourself and something that just might be able to disguise the fact that its an iPad! N
